How we built Ahmed Alhamoud Law Firm a brand identity that leads in Arabic
A Saudi law practice needed one identity that reads correctly whether it opens a court filing or a pitch deck. We set the Arabic name first and brought the Latin line in behind it.
Scope of work
Exactly what was designed, developed and delivered on this build.
The Brief
A brand identity for a Saudi law firm: where this started
Ahmed Alhamoud Law Firm needed a bilingual identity. Arabic had to lead. English had to follow close behind. Clients and counterparts read filings and proposals in that language every day.
Most bilingual identities in this market pick one language. The other trails as an afterthought. That reads as careless the moment a document crosses between the two.
A court filing and a pitch deck carry the same mark, but very different rooms read them. The brief asked for one system, not two. Neither script could read as secondary.
That meant starting the design from Arabic. Most studios start from Latin type and bolt Arabic on afterwards. This project worked the other way round from day one.
A law firm signs its name on every document it produces. The mark had to survive a courtroom filing cabinet and a client waiting room with equal confidence. It had to work small on a business card and large on a signboard.
The Build
What we built
The mark sets an A and an H either side of a fine vertical rule. The typeface is a high contrast serif. It reads as legal, not corporate.
We started from the rhythm of the Arabic letterforms first. Then we adjusted the Latin sizing to match it. Most bilingual identities in this market skip that step, which is why so many read as translated rather than designed.
Bronze, charcoal and deep navy carry the palette. The colors read as established, not trendy. They hold up on a court filing and a business card alike.
The brand guidelines extend into the company profile. Three business card variants, a letterhead and a C4 envelope all sit on the same grid.
Every piece went through the same review: does the Arabic line read first, and does the English line still work on its own. Both had to be true together.
The Details
What the system holds together
The guidelines book fixes the rules. The Arabic name sits above the English line, every time. It sets the safe space around the mark.
It also states what the identity may never be used for. That is what lets the system hold as the firm grows past whoever built its first version.
Every deliverable, from the business cards to the envelope, draws from the same rule set. A future designer can follow the rules without guessing.
That is what lets a law firm hand its brand to a printer without a design review every time. See more success stories from other Saudi and Egyptian clients.
A bilingual identity built this way keeps working long after the studio that built it moves on. That was always the actual brief, not just a new logo. A mark alone would have missed the point of the commission entirely.
What this record covers
This page documents the build: what was designed, developed and shipped. We publish performance figures only for engagements where we hold the measurement, which is why this entry reports scope instead of statistics. The programs we can measure are on the success stories page.
A bilingual brand identity for a Saudi law firm: a guidelines system for a practice that signs in Arabic and pitches in English, built as a full identity rather than a single mark.
