Privacy Policy

What this site collects, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.

Last updated

This policy explains what Luminari Solutions collects when you use this website, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. It describes what the site actually does rather than what a template assumes, so it is shorter than most policies of this kind.

Who we are

Luminari Solutions is a digital marketing agency based at 9 El Azim Street, El Nasr Street, Maadi, Cairo, Egypt. For anything in this policy you can reach us at info@luminarisolutions.com.

Our privacy contact is the same address, info@luminarisolutions.com. Write to it with any question about this policy, or any request about your own data, and a person here answers it.

What we collect when you contact us

Each form asks only for what it needs. The contact form asks for your name, email address, phone number, company name, the service you are interested in and your message. The free audit form asks for your name, email address, website address, a monthly budget range and what growth looks like for you. The short inquiry forms on service and campaign pages ask for your name, email address, phone number and a message. The newsletter signup on the blog asks only for your email address. You choose what to put in them, and nothing is required beyond what the form marks as required.

With every inquiry and newsletter signup we also record your IP address and your browser's user agent string, which we use to detect spam and abuse of the forms. We also record where the inquiry came from: the page you sent it from, the first page of your visit (its address without any query string), the name of the site that referred you (for example www.google.com, never the full address of the page, so no search terms are kept), and the campaign tags in the link you arrived by, such as utm_source, or an ad click identifier from Google, Meta, Microsoft, TikTok or LinkedIn. These campaign details are held in your session on our server for the length of your visit and are attached to an inquiry only if you send one. If you do not, they lapse with the session. We use them to understand which of our own marketing brought you here. They are not used to build a profile of you.

We use a newsletter address only to send the newsletter. To stop receiving it, reply to any issue or write to info@luminarisolutions.com and we will take your address off the list.

What we collect when you simply read

We measure traffic ourselves rather than handing it to an outside analytics company. When your browser runs the page's script, we record the page, the language, the name of the site that referred you (never our own), the campaign tags utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign if the link carried them, the type of device (desktop, mobile or tablet) and the time. Visits from known bots are not counted, and neither are our own staff while they are signed in.

We do not store your IP address and we do not set a cookie to do this. To count visitors rather than page views we store a 16 character code made from your network address and your browser string, mixed with a random value that is generated each day and replaced the next. Because that value is replaced daily and kept nowhere else, the code cannot be linked from one day to the next, and once the day is over it cannot be turned back into your address. The same person visiting tomorrow produces an unrelated code. It can tell us how many people read a page today. It cannot follow you from one day to the next.

When someone asks for a page that does not exist, we log the address they asked for, the page that linked to it and how many times it has been requested, so that we can fix broken links. That log holds no IP address and no browser details.

Cookies

Every visitor gets two strictly necessary first party cookies. The session cookie (luminari-session) identifies your session on our server, where we keep the security token our forms need and, for the length of your visit, the campaign details described above. The XSRF-TOKEN cookie protects the forms against cross site request forgery. Both expire two hours after your last page view, and neither is used for measurement or advertising. Our staff sign in to the administration area with the same session cookie, plus a remember me cookie if they choose to stay signed in. The public site sets no other cookies of its own.

If we switch on any of these tools: Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, Snapchat Pixel, LinkedIn Insight, Hotjar or Microsoft Clarity, a banner asks for your consent before any of them run. Accept and Reject are given equal weight. Your choice is kept in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie, and we ask again twelve months after you made it. You can change it at any time with the Cookie settings link at the foot of every page, which forgets your choice, removes the cookies those tools set on our domain and asks you again. If you accept, those tools set their own cookies and their providers (Google, Meta, TikTok, Snap, LinkedIn, Hotjar and Microsoft) receive data under their own terms. None of these tools are switched on today.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We share it only with the service providers we need to run the business, such as our hosting provider and our email provider, and only so far as they need it to provide that service. We also share it where the law requires us to.

How long we keep it

Inquiries and newsletter signups are kept only as long as we need them to answer you and to follow up, so that we can pick up a conversation where it left off. Nothing is erased on an automatic schedule, and nothing is kept once that purpose has passed. You can ask us to delete yours at any time by writing to info@luminarisolutions.com, and we will, unless the law requires us to keep it. When an inquiry is deleted we erase the personal details: name, email address, phone number, company, website, subject, message and other form answers, our internal notes, IP address, browser string, referring site, landing page and ad click identifiers. Only anonymous counts remain, such as which form was used, the date and the campaign tags. Page view records are kept for 90 days. The log of missing pages keeps an address for 60 days after it was last requested. Session data expires two hours after your last page view, and the daily visitor value is replaced every day. Backups held by our hosting provider roll over on the provider's own schedule.

What you can ask for

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or ask us to stop using it for a particular purpose. Write to info@luminarisolutions.com and we will respond within thirty days.

If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation gives you these rights and the right to complain to your national data protection authority. In Egypt, Law 151 of 2020 on the Protection of Personal Data applies, and if our answer does not satisfy you, you can complain to the Personal Data Protection Center, the authority that law sets up to supervise it.

Changes

If we change how we handle your information we will update this page and change the date at the top of it.
