How we built Boss Level Media a site with an editorial spine

Boss Level Media is a full-service performance marketing agency. That means the website has to sell capability faster than a prospect can lose interest.

In 2022 the company needed a site that felt like it belonged to a team running bold campaigns. Not a team filling in a template.

The risk with bold is incoherence. Strong type in one section, a stock photo in the next, an off brand button in the third. Each choice is defensible alone and the page falls apart together.

A prospect grades an agency on its own marketing first. Anyone who doubts the site rarely trusts the media plan behind it.

So the brief was one editorial voice from top to bottom. The brand mark and the layout language had to recur often enough that the whole page reads as a single piece of design.

We built a layout system rather than a set of pages. A small number of section types, each with defined typography, spacing and rhythm, combine into pages that vary in content but never in character.

Headlines carry the weight. The palette stays disciplined. The brand mark works structurally, as a repeating element anchoring sections, rather than a logo dropped into the header and forgotten.

Service and vertical templates sit on that system, so the agency can explain what it does market by market without the design drifting. Consistency here is a business asset, not a taste preference.

The client showcase became its own module. Real work, presented consistently, in a format the team can extend as the roster grows. That beats a hand built gallery that goes stale the day it ships. Our graphic design and brand identity team set the system, and website and app development shipped it.

Editorial layouts live or die on typographic discipline. We fixed the type scale early and built every section to respect it.

Heading sizes, line lengths and vertical rhythm stay consistent across templates. That consistency is what makes a bold design read as confident rather than loud.

Section transitions work as deliberate breaks, so a long page keeps a sense of pace instead of turning into undifferentiated scroll. Pace is the difference between reading and scrolling past.

The showcase module carried the same rule. Every entry uses the same frame. A new client never forces a bespoke layout that ages differently from the rest.

The system also extends cleanly. Adding a service page, a vertical or a showcase entry means choosing existing section types and filling them.
