How we built Midwest Local Media a video-led page that loads fast
A US agency selling 360-degree digital marketing needed one page to carry the whole pitch: video, verticals, services and proof, in an order that reads like an argument rather than a menu.
Scope of work
Exactly what was designed, developed and delivered on this build.
The Brief
Midwest Local Media sells 360 degree digital marketing to businesses across the US Midwest. In 2022 the company wanted a site that behaves like its sales conversation.
That conversation is not a navigation menu. It opens with a video, moves through the industries the agency knows, lays out the services, shows the proof, and ends with a booking.
Splitting that across eight pages hands visitors eight chances to leave. Every click is a decision point, and every decision point loses a share of the room.
Agencies also sell trust before they sell a service. A single page lets the proof sit next to the claim it supports. On a normal site that proof is two clicks away.
So the brief was a single page carrying the whole argument in sequence. It had to hold attention with motion and still load quickly enough that the video never becomes the reason somebody bounces.
The Build
We structured the page as an argument with sections rather than a homepage with blocks. The hero is video led and sets the tone in the first three seconds. The poster frame and playback are handled so the page paints immediately instead of waiting on the media.
Below it, vertical sections speak to each market the agency serves in that market language. Service templates then explain the work without collapsing into a capabilities list nobody reads.
Proof sits where skepticism peaks, after the promise and before the ask. That placement is the whole reason a long page can outperform a site map.
The booking flow closes the page. It is also reachable from a persistent call to action, so a visitor convinced by section two does not scroll to section nine to act. Our website and app development team built it, with the look from graphic design and brand identity.
The Details
Long form pages fail on weight, so the engineering went into keeping a media heavy layout light. Media loads as sections come into view rather than all at once on first paint.
Imagery is sized per breakpoint. The section rhythm comes from layout rather than decoration, which costs nothing to download.
That matters in a market where plenty of traffic is nowhere near office broadband. A page that stalls on a rural connection loses the exact buyer the agency wants.
The templates are reusable. Verticals and services are repeatable structures, so the agency can add an industry or a service without redesigning the page.
Scroll behavior got as much attention as the visuals, because on a single page build the scroll is the navigation. Section anchors, a sticky path back to booking, and consistent spacing let a visitor read the whole story or jump to the part they came for. More builds sit on our success stories page.
What this record covers
This page documents the build: what was designed, developed and shipped. We publish performance figures only for engagements where we hold the measurement, which is why this entry reports scope instead of statistics. The programs we can measure are on the success stories page.
Long form landing page design for a US agency that sells in one continuous argument. Midwest Local Media carries video, verticals, services and proof on a single page.
