How we built Aran Fashion an editorial storefront
Aran Fashion is a brand built on visual identity, so we built a store that stays out of the way of the imagery: big pictures, minimal chrome, and browsing that starts with the collection instead of the filter bar.
Scope of work
Exactly what was designed, developed and delivered on this build.
The Brief
Aran Fashion came to us in 2022. The brand had a wardrobe of strong photography and a catalog that did not know what to do with it. Fashion buyers do not shop the way electronics buyers shop.
They do not arrive with a model number and a budget. They arrive with a mood, scroll a collection, and decide when something looks like them. A grid of thumbnails, sidebar filters and specification tables works against that instinct at every step.
So the brief was a storefront where the lookbook does the selling. The commerce mechanics stay quiet until the customer is ready for them.
That sounds like a styling preference. It is really a merchandising decision. It changes how every template on the site behaves, and it decides what the team can publish without a developer.
The Build
The homepage leads with full bleed campaign imagery rather than a promotional carousel. Every collection gets a landing template that reads like a magazine spread. A hero shot, a short piece of copy, then the pieces in that story, in the order the brand wants them seen.
Product pages keep the same restraint. Photography runs large and uninterrupted. The buying controls sit in a quiet column beside it. Anything a shopper does not need in that moment goes below the fold.
The lookbook templates are the centrepiece, and they sell. Each frame links straight through to the products inside it. Inspiration and purchase sit one tap apart instead of a search away.
All of it came out of our website and app development practice. The visual system came from our graphic design and brand identity team, so the store and the campaigns speak in one voice.
The Details
Merchandising was the part that had to survive contact with a real season. We structured collections so the team can reorder pieces, feature a hero item and retire a drop without a developer.
The category logic handles a catalog that changes every few months rather than every few years. That is the difference between a store that ages well and one that needs a rebuild after two seasons.
Photography was the constraint everywhere. Every template had to hold a large image without pushing the price and the buy button off the screen. That balance is the whole job in this category.
The whole build is mobile first, because a fashion audience arrives from a phone. Image sizes serve responsively, so a full bleed campaign shot does not cost a second of load time. Tap targets suit thumbs. The collection browse works as a vertical scroll rather than a desktop grid squeezed into a narrow column.
What shipped behaves like the brand it represents. Quiet chrome, loud photography, and a path from a campaign image to a completed order. More builds like it sit on our success stories page.
What this record covers
This page documents the build: what was designed, developed and shipped. We publish performance figures only for engagements where we hold the measurement, which is why this entry reports scope instead of statistics. The programs we can measure are on the success stories page.
